SMART was founded by Masum Murtaza, a Lecturer, Module Leader and Academic Consultant based in Sheffield with over fifteen years of experience across UK and international higher education. He currently teaches at Fairfield School of Business in partnership with Ravensbourne University London, Bath Spa University and Birmingham Newman University, leading modules in Business Strategy and Business Environment.
His teaching is grounded in constructive alignment and Universal Design for Learning — ensuring every student, regardless of background, is supported to achieve their full potential. His doctoral research investigates how emotional intelligence shapes work performance in the UK service sector, using Structural Equation Modelling.
